A few basic facts:
The UGC was established in 1973. It has 132 member estates, representing the most prestigious appellations in Bordeaux: Saint Emilion, Pomerol, Médoc, Graves, Sauternes and Pessac-Léognan. Many of the estates are classified growths and those that are not are considered of equal quality. The UGC organizes tastings and promotional events all over the world, and its members travel 2-3 months a year promoting their wines. Their website: www.ugcb.net.
